Khuvsgul is located in northern Mongolia, near the Siberian border, and is the largest freshwater lake in the country - holding about 70% of Mongolia’s fresh water.
Khuvsgul is part of the Khuvsgul National Park, which is home to rich wildlife such as reindeer, moose, ibex, and many bird species. The area is also home to the Tsaatan reindeer herders, one of Mongolia’s most unique and traditional ethnic groups, who live in the taiga forests north of the lake.
The tour has incredible diversity of terrain and scenery. While most of the ride is done on gravel roads and dirt tracks, there will be a few technical sections and mountain passes. When we reach Khuvsgul Lake, you’ll enjoy trail riding around the area with amazing views of the lake and surrounding hills.
On the way back to city, the ride becomes more relaxed - a
smooth and enjoyable ride on paved roads after the first few days of technical adventure. It’s a perfect balance of challenge and comfort, ending your journey on a calm and scenic note.
